I started 89th and Broke in 2008 when I was 23 years old and an account executive at a PR firm, living on the Upper East Side. I dined out a lot,and reported my favorite restaurants that I tried, always hoping to get out of a meal spending under $20 with tax and tip.
Since then, my spending habits have changed a bit! I mostly cook at home, going out to dinner only for special occasions. However, I’m still on the hunt for a good bargain – and love sharing helpful tips and tricks on how to save money, whether it’s through a new deal site or discount Broadway tickets app. The site has also evolved to not only be about food in New York City, but entertainment, drinks and life in the Big Apple.
